KIT34978EKEVB is an evaluation board (EVB) features the MC34978 - 22 channel switch detection interface with programmable wetting current. The kit is designed to detect the closing and opening of up to 22 switch contacts. The switch status, either open or closed, is transferred to the microprocessor unit (MCU) through a serial peripheral interface (SPI). The device also features a 24-to-1 analogue multiplexer for reading inputs as analogue. The analogue input signal is buffered and provided on the AMUX output pin to be read by an external MCU. The MC34978 device has two modes of operation, Normal and Sleep. Normal Mode allows programming of the device and supplies switch contacts with pull-up or pull-down current as it monitors switch change-of-state, while the sleep mode provide switch status detection with maximum power saving. KIT34978EKEVB can be controlled through a USB/SPI dongle (KITUSBSPIDGLEVME) connected to the PC’s USB port.

• Direct connection to battery power with optional 5V/3.3V LDO for VDDQ rail supply
